Down Below 02:33
Would you really like to know What goes on down below? Would you really like to know my baby? There’s a place I’d rather go Where the soft embers glow But the hall of doubt is long my baby And as I walk down this hall One by one they will call But I hear you crying my baby Your sweet face a spark of light Setting fire to this night Embers they are glowing bright my baby Would you really like to know What goes on down below? Would you really like to know my baby? Your sweet face a spark of light Setting fire to the night Embers they are glowing brighter baby

Reach for the stars don't let anyone stop you No matter how far no matter how broken you are Reach for yourself no one else can reach you stop watching the clock and let everything teach you And please be patient - and please be kind Reach for the stars don't let anyone stop you not even yourself though it might be tempting Reach for your heart no one else can reach it if you won't unveil if you don't unleash it And please be gentle - and please be strong
5.
I’ll hold you in my arms I’ll hold you in my thoughts I’ll hold you in my heart All through the night Je te tiendrai dans mes bras Je te tiendrai dans mes rêves Je te tiendrai dans mon Coeur Tout au long de la nuit

about

"A Pocket Full of Lullabies" was an idea sparked by Krista's colleague Sarah Brodie (fellow dreamer, colleague and Art Therapist) who invited her to perform and teach lullabies to new parents at her practice in Burlington, Ontario. In February 2015 Krista collected and arranged traditional and modern lullabies and was inspired by her sister/niece, godchildren and other raggle-taggle sweethearts and wrote a series of original songs for ukulele and voice using simple chord progressions.

What you are listening to are these very songs. Sparked by a love of story-telling and rooted in oral tradition and musical memory, we hope these songs become a part of your life in sweet and unexpected ways. We've added the lyrics and song sheets so that you can sing and play along if you have a ukulele (ideally linear tuning in C).

This project was made possible in part by the CALQ. French lyrics edited by Roxanne Arsenault. Photograph taken by Nelson Tam at the April 18th Rusholme Salon Show where Krista was an Artist in Residence. Recorded and mixed by Guillermo Subauste (www.pachasound.com) in Toronto, April 2015.
